My Morning Jacket live at Paradiso, Amsterdam, Holland, May 28, 2001

Here's a lil piece from Oor Magazine about the Paradiso show in Amsterdam, May 28
(by Koen and Nicole Meijssen)

Arriving at the Paradiso, Koen and Nicole Meijssen thought it was surprisingly busy for a My Morning Jacket show. When a lot of people started to enter through the guest-entrance, it became obvious....

"There was a listening session for the new Radiohead cd for a few fans. They were lucky to see the My Morning Jacket show afterwards. The show started in a special way, with Jim James from an elevated position as a 'preacher' singing 'At Dawn'. Followed soon by a brilliant version of 'Picture Of You', with James' characteristic voice amazing us over and over again. After the 'strip-act' from Johnny Quaid, revealing his AC/DC-shirt, they rocked bigtime. Especially new drummer kc Guetig really impressed us a lot. After that Jim James played a couple of acoustic songs. Unfortunately there were some small glitches in the sound but it didn't really matter cause when the full band came back they had a worthy ending of the show. After the show, when the musicians had packed up their gear on their own, they took all the time to chat and sign some stuff. It makes it even harder to imagine that such nice and humble guys can give such a brilliant show. We suspect that the present Radiohead-fans discovered a lot more than just 'Amnesiac'!"
