See the 1980 recordings section, and the quote below ...

Personal source: ? -> Tape -> Tape, transferred to CD-R, and later encoded to FLAC
(also downloaded this as: unknown (received in CDR trade)>EAC>TLH 2.4.1 (flac level 8), but this is the same as my transfer)

Running time: approx. 45 mins.

The scan on the right is from my own tape. The scan on the left (click to enlarge) was sent to me many years ago (thanks Philippe).

Highschool friend Steven Wolfe wrote in May 2001: "I never saw them play as Creeping Ritual - I was living in San Francisco at the time. It's all a bit hazy all these years later, but I know without question that I saw at least one Gun Club show before the Starwood, and I think there were more. I can't recall club names or anything, sadly. But at this one show - which I think was the actual first show as Gun Club, it was a small dive and Jeffrey had a portrait of Robert E. Lee onstage (how's your US history? Robert E. Lee, commander in chief of the Confederate army during the Civil War)."

A recording (same?) of this show was released on the "Hollywood Writhes" bootleg CD-R (SuperSonicScientists SSS 079).

On Record Store Day Black Friday November 26, 2021 this show (same recording? tbc) was released on the "Sex, Murder, Drugs, And Bad Vibes - Live At The Starwood 1981" LP by Blixa Sounds/Extra Term Audio (ETA 878) on gold colored vinyl. Limited to 2,000 copies.
[Note that I haven't heard this release yet, but as with previous 'official' releases I don't expect this to be an upgrade over what has circulated freely before amongst fans and collectors.]
