Audience recording. It only includes the last four tracks, because the recording of the rest of the show failed and only the encore was worth keeping, as the taper vaguely recalls.

  2. Eternally Is Here
  3. Bad America
  4. Stranger In Our Town

  6. Fire Of Love
  7. She's Like Heroin To Me

As released on the "Moonlight Motel" bootleg LP (Superb Productions, 1985; reissued as "The Enigma Of Desire" in 2000) and official LP/CD (Cleopatra 2014).
This is the same gig as the one officially released on "Danse Kalinda Boom", but tracks 1, 6 & 7 are NOT on that album.

Note that where this is one continuous recording on the original 1985 "Moonlight Motel" LP (except for the switch between sides A and B = between tracks 5 and 6), on the 2014 CD each track is faded in and out creating silence between the tracks. I don't know about the LP reissue. However, in my opinion such is pretty stupid to do with a live recording!

Pandora's Music Box Festival, De Doelen, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, September 22, 1984 - version 4

  1. Give Up The Sun
  2. She's Like Heroin To Me

Taken from the Dutch radio special by VPRO's radioshow "Nighttrain"/"The VPRO Music Archives", November 22, 2002 (see also the other recordings section).
"Give Up The Sun" is announced as "You're Not The Same".
This is the same gig as the one officially released on "Danse Kalinda Boom", but the second track is NOT on that album. The DJ incorrectly thinks that The Gun Club also performed the festival a year later and that the tracks on "Danse Kalinda Boom" were recorded that year. Although Jeffrey Lee Pierce was at the 1985 edition of the festival, it was not with The Gun Club but as the Jeffrey Lee Pierce Quartet.

Personal source: FM radio -> PC WAVe -> CD-R, and later encoded to FLAC

Pandora's Music Box Festival, De Doelen, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, September 22, 1984 - version 9

  1. Bad Indian
  2. Fire Of Love

These tracks are supposedly released on a white label (and generic white sleeve) bootleg 7" vinyl single. See this Symphony of Ghosts blog post from January 12, 2009 where I found details on this release (as well as the image on the left and the MP3s in my collection). As suggested there these two tracks may have been taken from the "Moonlight Motel" bootleg LP (see above). They do not come from the "Sex Beat 81" LP since that doesn't include any tracks from this show.

This is the same gig as the one officially released on "Danse Kalinda Boom", but both of these tracks are NOT on that album.

Please get in touch when you have more info on this single. Thanks.

This CDr is about three minutes shorter than the above tape transfer. It has been remastered way too loud, the tape transfer is much more natural sounding. Original liner notes by Saucerman, December 1994:
"I am all dressed up like Elvis" ... Screamed Jeffrey Lee Pierce the first time I met him all those years ago. The Gun Club have always been special to me. Hell, for 5 years or so I ran the official fan club, a small but important part of the Gun Club machine. I saw the high and the lows and done told the truth to all the loyal fans the world over.
What you now hold in your greasy palms, Daddyo, is a document of film that covers a killer show from their 1984 (Las Vegas Story) UK tour. It's all here... The return of Kid Congo Powers (via the Cramps) and Terry Graham behind the drums once again... It's one hell of a show that will have you wanting for more... Now turn on and tune in to the Death Party...

This show appeared as a bonus disc with the 2009 Cooking Vinyl CD reissue of "The Las Vegas Story" and it turned out to be exactly the same as my transfer which I originally burned on CDr and swapped with other fans (through which it found its way into circulation as the two mentioned downloads above show). The track separation is identical to what I made.
Cooking Vinyl only 'remastered' it a bit (read: pumped up the volume; it is even slightly clipped at some points). I must say that I was a bit disappointed to find out that a label with a good reputation like Cooking Vinyl released this.
