The LP-releases listed on the left have both been issued as a limited edition gatefold double vinyl release. While the Badman Recording Co. release was originally announced as being a limited edition of handnumbered copies, it actually isn't handnumbered. The ATO/RCA-release however is a limited edition run of 1,000 handnumbered copies.

Promo copies (with different artwork, see picture on the right) available since early June 2003, announcing the album to be released August 2003. It was originally scheduled for release on August 19, 2003. Click the picture on the right for a special Jim James signed version of the promo sleeve (thanks to Jason Carroll)!

Originally the Japanese release was announced to have one extra track, but this didn't happen ...

  20. Magic Man

Originally scheduled for release as "At Dawn & Tennessee Fire Demos" (DRL 149) on September 7, 2004, and available for pre-order at the Darla website since early July 2004!! Thereafter the scheduled date of release changed many times (to October 4, 2004; March 7, 2005; October 10, 2005; February 14, 2006; May 15-16, 2006). The title and cat.no. changed somewhere early 2006. In April 2006 the release date was moved ahead again, from June 12, 2006 to February 1, 2007, and again it seems to be delayed! Darla now (January 2007) lists it as to be released on February 12, 2012!?!

Well, it's still Darla's intention to release this disc in 2007, but they have to coordinate this with any releases ATO Records wants to put out. Now the "Okonokos" album and DVD are out there, Darla is in the clear to release it anytime now. Also, the tracklist will be as above. The only difference will be the 2 Meter Session version of "Lil Billy", and perhaps any additional improvements, such as unreleased period demos and the like.

Early 2006 the tracklist changed (as above); originally it was to be like this:

  1. The Way That He Sings (demo version)
  2. Hopefully (demo version)
  3. Just Because I Do (demo version)
  4. Bermuda Highway (demo version)
  5. Lowdown (demo version)
  6. Honest Man (demo version)
  7. At Dawn (demo version)
  8. I Needed It Most (demo version)
  9. Lead Me Father (demo version)
  10. Phone Went West (demo version)
  11. Chills (demo version)
  12. Just Because I Do (version 1)
  13. Heartbreakin Man (version 1)
  14. Evelyn Is Not Real (version 1)
  15. The Bear (version 2)
  16. If All Else Fails (version 1)
  17. Picture Of You (version 1)
  18. I Think I'm Going To Hell (version 1)

So, this means that the original "At Dawn" demos disc isn't rereleased in it's original running order, and also that one alternate version from that disc has been deleted ("Honest Man"). Furthermore, the alternate versions of "Just Because I Do", "Evelyn Is Not Real", and "If All Else Fails" have been deleted from the new tracklist. However, in return an 'intro', two unreleased songs ("Magic Man" and "Lil Billy"), and three other alternate versions ("Butch Cassidy", "War Begun", and "Twilight") have been added!
